We’ve launched the Mav2Go app to help you streamline your Instagram publishing!
With 500 million users, Instagram has evolved steadily over the last few years from new kid on the block to a force to be reckoned with.
We’re excited to announce that you can now schedule your posts for Instagram with MavSocial’s iOS based application Mav2Go.
You can save time by scheduling several weeks’ worth of posts—or more!
Until recently, it hasn’t been easy for marketers and small business owners to fit Instagram publishing in with the rest of their social media workflow. You could schedule content ahead of time for other networks, but for Instagram, you still had to do all your scheduling in the actual Instagram app.
Our new app Mav2Go for iOS lets you use MavSocial to create a central content calendar and allows for engagement and campaign analysis for all major social networks in one hub.
Because Instagram doesn’t allow external publishing, you have to finish up the post on your phone, but with notifications from Mav2Go, you don’t have to remember your content calendar.
Instead, you can schedule your content and wait for the reminder.
To create a post for Instagram that you already scheduled inside of MavSocial, here’s what you need to do:
- Create a new post for Instagram in MavSocial
- Wait for a notification from Mav2Go
- Quickly finish the post up in Instagram
Here’s the process in more detail:
1. Link Your Instagram Account to MavSocial
Instagram publishing is available for PRO and Enterprise users of MavSocial. If you’re already a PRO or Enterprise user, head to the dashboard or the accounts tab to link your Instagram account. Linking your account means you can do the following for Instagram:
Your Instagram comments will show up in your social inbox and you can get engagement stats for your campaigns.
If you’d like to sign up for a trial of PRO, you can find that here.
2. Upload a Photo for Your Post
Head to the post manager and upload a new photo. Write a winning caption and get creative with your hashtags.
You also have the option of finding a stock image that will make a great background for an overlay quote or of pulling the custom content already saved in your Digital Library.
3. Schedule Your Post or Save It
Pick the day and time you want to schedule it, whether that’s a couple of hours from now or a couple of weeks.
Keep in mind that you’ll receive your notification 5 minutes before the time you choose.
Here’s where your content calendar strategy comes in! Be sure that you pick the best times to post.
If you want to create a backlog of posts and aren’t concerned about when exactly you’ll post them, then you don’t have to schedule them.
Simply save posts, and they will show up under Saved Posts in Mav2Go.
4. Download Mav2Go and Login with Your MavSocial Account
Mav2Go is compatible with iOS, and we will be working on an Android version, but don’t yet have a release date for that.
After logging in with your MavSocial account, you’ll see the following menu options:
You’ll see your saved posts, your scheduled posts, and once you have used the app, you’ll also see your published posts (allowing you to #regram if you so desire).
5. Wait for Notification (or just Post Now)
Notifications will appear on your phone when your photos are supposed to be published. Remember that each photo sends you a notification 5 minutes before you’re due to schedule it.
You can go about your regular life and have your Instagram calendar set ahead of time!
If you’ve changed your mind and want to post something sooner, no problem. Just click Post Now, which you’ll see next to any post, whether it is saved, scheduled or already published.
6. Follow the Photo to Instagram
When you click Post Now, Mav2Go, generates a friendly reminder to check that you are logged into the correct Instagram account on your phone—and it even tells you the name of that Instagram profile.
If you manage multiple Instagram accounts, whether they are your clients’ accounts or a mixture of work and personal profiles, this is a life saver.
7. Add Optional Filters and Paste the Caption
If you use filters from other apps, then be sure to do so before uploading the photo to MavSocial, but if you like using Instagram filters, then you can apply them after Mav2Go opens up the photo in Instagram.
Mav2Go automatically copies the caption to your clipboard.
All you have to do is paste it! If you thought of some more great hashtags since you wrote the post a month ago (or however long it’s been), go ahead and add them.
8. Publish It!
And we’re done here!
Next time you login to MavSocial, you’ll see your Instagram comments in your Social Inbox and the most recent ones in your dashboard.
Now that you know how it works, you can start using MavSocial and Mav2Go to create a backlog of saved and/or scheduled Instagram posts.
